A screen mesh is installed in the extruder together with the breaker plate. It is very effective for filtration and adjusting the backpressure in the cylinder to enhance the mixing effect. The screen mesh material, wire dia, opening size, and shape must be appropriate for the type of extruder & the synthetic resin being used.
The types of screen mesh used in the extruder include plain weave mesh, twill weave mesh and dutch weave mesh.
