Knitted wire mesh is metallic wire knitted into a mesh structure in very much the same way as stockings or sweaters. Knitting produces a mesh of interlocking loops. Then the knitted wire mesh are compressed into different shapes, diameters and types of muffler.
The knitted wire mesh materials are used for mufflers including stainless steel 304 and 316, 316L
