Stainless Steel Mesh Material

The wire mesh is commonly made from stainless steel grade 304 304L 316 or 316L.

304 is the basic stainless alloy commonly applied for woven wire cloth.

304L is very similar to 304, the difference being the reduced carbon content for better weaving and secondary welding characteristics.

316 stainless steel woven wire mesh especially suited for direct methanol fuel cells and for use as convection (open air) current collectors. This can be used as a diffusion layer and current collector in direct methanol fuel cells and on the cathode of any open-air fuel cell.

316 stainless steel has greater corrosion resistance than grade 304 stainless steel.

316L is almost similar to 316, the difference being the reduced carbon content for better wire cloth weaving and secondary welding characteristics.

Stainless Steel Mesh Weave Types : Plain Weave

Plain weave is used for the majority of woven wire mesh. Each warp wire crosses alternately above and below every weft wire and vice versa. Commonly the warp and weft wires have same diameter.

The benefit of this type of mesh is that it has great dimensional stability.

A multitude of meshes, weaves and wire diameters are available.

Mesh Edge We Produce

It can be provided as discs or cut into mesh tapes. The mesh tapes are supplied at extremely small width up to 20mm. In addition, we designed special machines to produce the finish edge mesh. The finish edge will increase the mesh stability and provide a safety edge for handling. And It will also protect the battery separator.
